Success Story from Narconon Arrowhead's Prescription Drug Rehab Center
Every graduation, on Friday, I reflect on my previous week. It is my way of inventorying my progress in this drug rehab program, as well as how I feel physically, mentally and emotionally. I have been doing this since I was in the withdrawal phase of the program. The changes in me are remarkable. I have not really changed as much as I have become myself again. My drug use has been running my life for the past five years. I have been missing in action since I was 33 years old. I missed myself, only existing in a body. My mind and spirit were almost dead. When others looked in my eyes, they said I did look dead. This drug rehab program has found in me more than I can express! J.T.
Drug Rehab Facilities
Drug
rehab facilities are not all created equal and many different types exist.
There are in-patient and out-patient facilities, long term and short term, drug therapy and drug free, traditional and non traditional, just to name a few of the differences.
Narconon Arrowhead is a long term in that rather than having a set time span, we operate off of results and this varies by individual.
Average time is 90-120 days.
We are also drug free in that we firmly believe that treating drug
addiction with other ‘maintenance’ type drugs is counter productive to producing a truly drug free productive life. We are also non-traditional and do not treat
addiction as a disease one has for life. Our 76% success rate speaks for itself.
Drug Rehab Information By State
Any
treatment for
addiction usually includes handling alcohol abuse.
There is of course
alcoholism itself, which is simply the name given to alcohol addiction.
In addition to this, statistics at Narconon Arrowhead show that alcohol
abuse quite often accompanies other drug
addictions and must be handled as well.
The idea that one can quit his drug of choice but still
abuse alcohol is a dangerous idea.
As drugs or alcohol are generally used as crutches for painful situations (mental or physical) in ones life, substituting one drug for another (including alcohol) can be seen as no solution at all. Effective handling of alcohol abuse, or any other substance abuse, involves confronting and controlling those life situations that are creating the need or desire to escape through alcohol or drugs. When one can be more comfortable in life without drugs or alcohol than with them, then the need or desire for them will cease.
Narconon Arrowhead is an adult drug rehab, meaning the minimum age for enrollment in our program is 18 years old.
Other than that age limitation, individuals come from varied backgrounds and experiences.
We range in age from 18 to 80; individuals hail from all around the world, and run the entire gamut of educational, financial, and career backgrounds.
We find the melting pot to be extremely advantageous in handling the
addiction problem.
Addicts and
alcoholic are generally very selfish and self centered at the height of their addictions. As the new person moves through our program they find addicts helping addicts, which is a very strong force, as nobody knows the condition better than someone who has been there. Gaining the ability and desire to help another is a key point in extroverting the addict once again in preparing them to re-enter home or society.
Addictions come in all shapes and sizes.
Some are to alcohol, some to street drugs, some to prescription does, and unfortunately most are a combination of these and are seldom confined to only one drug or substance.
Treatments unfortunately come in all shapes and sizes as well.
Unfortunately because all the salesmanship in the world can’t make a bad
treatment a good one.
So when it come to treatments for
addictions look for programs that have a history, experience with the wide assortment of modern day addictions, are themselves drug free, and most important of all – a proven success rate. Narconon offers all of these with over 40 years of experience in handling all forms of

A residential
rehab facility is one where the individual lives and resides at the facility for the duration of his or her
addiction treatment.
Residential
rehab in all but a few cases is probably the best choice when it comes to
addiction treatment. It removes the individual from the environment where all the use and
abuse was occurring and allows the addict to confront the issues of addiction in a drug free and safe environment.
Interacting with and aiding fellow addicts who strongly desire sobriety is in no small way a major benefit as well.
