Drug addiction help can come
in many forms and it is up to everyone to take responsibility for our declining
society if drug addiction is to be stamped out of existence.
Several
national organizations offer drug addiction help publicly and privately through
various campaigns, research, treatment, education and prevention as well as
community programs.
The Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America
provides drug addiction help by uniting resources in communities
throughout the country. These resources may include treatment and prevention
programs, law enforcement initiatives, job placement assistance, legislative
advocacy and many other activities.
The National Institute of Drug
Abuse is a government organization that conducts clinical trials for drug
replacement therapy and other treatment research projects. The research tends
to lead toward medically-based approaches with pharmaceuticals and disorder
theories, but it is all in an effort to provide drug addiction help.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is the
largest government organization dedicated to providing drug addiction
help. Federal money is distributed through this agency and its
subsidiaries, the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment and the Center for
Substance Abuse Prevention, to states and individual non-profit organizations
to provide services to those who are in need of help. This includes a drug
addiction treatment facility locator for programs that are publicly and
privately funded.
Aside from these three large agencies there are
hundreds and even thousands of substance abuse treatment and prevention
organizations that offer drug addiction help to individuals, families,
businesses and communities. While philosophies and approaches can vary
significantly, it is important to remember that results matter. In the end, you
have to examine how effective something is as opposed to what is the most
widely-accepted method. Successful rehabilitation means not having to use any
drugs, prescription or otherwise, and living a happy, productive life.
